Pumas of Patagonia 2025
This Pumas of Patagonia trip is a special kind of photo safari. We will be in SUV's as our guides will be searching for pumas. When a puma is found we will drive as close as the road allows then will be on foot. Many of the pumas we will be photographing are comfortable in our presence.
We have a maximum of six guests per trip. This allows for three photographers in each S.U.V.
Itinerary May 6- Arrive and overnight in Santiago. May 7- Fly to Punta Arenas- Drive to our hotel near Tores del Paine National Park May 8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17 Ten full days photographing pumas. June 18- Transfer to Punta Arenas- Fly to Santiago. Overnight in Santiago. June 19- Fly Home Trip Cost & Deposit 2024 The cost of this trip is unconfirmed at this point. Estimation is $14000.00 US. Deposit is $2500.00 US. For a single room all throughout the trip, your trip cost will approximately be $1600.00 more. The first six deposits hold our trip and confirms your spot. All the deposits that come in will be sent to the Patagonia tracking company to hold our spots. Our trip is not confirmed until all six deposits are received. If we go with 5 guests, the price will be $600.00 higher. We are quoted based on the number of guests we have. I will keep everyone who sends in a deposit informed. Group Two
Difficulty Level
We will have two vehicles. Two guides for two vehicles or three guides for three vehiicles. Everyone must be able to walk at least 300 yards on uneven ground to and from each sighting. Most of the sightings are within 300 yards of the vehicle, but sometimes that 300 yards is a steep walk up the mountain. Some ore closer. Sometimes we start out 100 yards away and if the pumas are moving we may have to follow them. If people can't walk to a sighting, they can wait in the vehicle.
-Lunch on the way to the hotel from Punta Arenas.
-Breakfast, Lunch and dinner starting with breakfast on May 9 to breakfast on June 18th.
-Hotel Room at Holiday Inn Express on May 6 and May 18 plus a day room on May 18 so we don't have to wait in the airport for 12 hours.
-Return business class or premium comfort flights from Santiago to Punta Arenas. Sometimes we have lay back business seats and other times we have premium comfort seats. It depends on the plane Latam uses. The premium seats are very well priced and as photgraphers we have extra carry on luggage.
-Road transfer Punta Arenas to hotel return and driver tips.
-Park Fees
